Learn the art of pressing flowers and how to display them. Each participant takes home a flower press of their own. Fee covers cost of materials. Registration required. Registration closes May 10. Botanical Center Meeting Room Age: 16 yrs and up Time: 6-7p.m. Fee: $20

This annual event showcases all of the homemade items from all different types of fibers and textiles. Quilting, rug hooking, making clothes, weaving and so much more. There will be demonstrations, music, and activities for kids.

The Mizumoto Japanese Stroll Garden in Nathanael Greene/Close Memorial Park is a beautiful place to learn more about Japanese culture. Enjoy stories and songs, and explore the beautiful gardens. Admission is free from 10 a.m.-noon. Bring your library card -- the Mobile Library will be parked nearby for all of these events.
