Visitor Guidelines
To enhance the enjoyment of all visitors to the gardens, please observe these guidelines:
Parking is free; lots are identified on the adjacent map. All main paths are hard surfaced and accessible for strollers or mobility-assisted guests; there are some slight inclines and several gardens have wood-chipped paths within them. Stroller or wheelchair rentals are not available.
Bicycle riders are welcome, particularly on the South Creek Greenway that runs through the south side of the Park; please be considerate of pedestrians and walk bikes when activity is high at the park.
Leashed dogs are welcome in all outdoor areas; please pick up your pet’s waste.
You are welcome to bring food or have a picnic, including free use of grills or picnic tables. Please dispose of hot coals responsibly, not in trash containers or near trees or vegetation.
Restrooms are available in the Botanical Center and at the Mizumoto Japanese Stroll Garden Pavilion.
Guided group tours and field trips may be scheduled through the Botanical Center at (417) 891-1515, ext. 2.
The gardens offer magical settings for special events and professional photography. Groups of 30 or more should schedule activities through the Botanical Center and rental fees may apply. Professional and commercial photographers and videographers also can apply for a photo pass at the Botanical Center.
Please do not feed the wildlife, especially ducks or geese. The gardens and lake are not open for swimming, wading, hunting, boating, or fishing.
Please do not harvest flowers, fruits or plants.
