Hillbilly Gardeners Garden Club wins several prestigious awards. Published Monday, April 20, 2015: As various members of our Federated Garden Clubs in Springfield return from the FGCM convention at Lake of the Ozarks, I am pleased to say that not only did Cherry Court Garden Club receive accolades, but Hillbilly Garden Club won several prestigious awards. Hillbilly member Pat Guyer received the FGCM Award of Honor for her work in garden club and the community. The club won the Meleena Byram Habitat for Humanity Landscaping Award and the Mae Jean Nothstine Program Award. Springfield can be proud of our gardening contribution to the state. Many of Springfield’s Federated Garden Club members are involved in our various park partners and Master Gardeners of Greene County in the maintenance of the Springfield Botanical Gardens. –by Peter Longley
