The Gold Star memorial plaque is a gift from the Springfield Council of Federated Garden Clubs.

This plaque has been installed near the Blue Star memorial, which honors all who have served in any capacity in the US armed services. The Gold Star memorial honors families who have lost a loved one in the armed services.

The dedication of the Gold Star memorial plaque will be September 15 at 2 p.m. at the Nathanael Greene flagpole.
