“The Hawthorn or Missouri’s floral emblem can be seen blooming just south of the butterfly house. There are several species of hawthorn and they grow prolifically across the state.
Near the big playground, there is a ‘Purple Robe’ Locust. The blooms look like wisteria and it is a cultivar of the native black locust tree.
The White Fringe Tree, also known as Grancy Greybeard or Old Man’s Beard is blooming in the White, Master Gardener and near the spillway on Scenic.”
