SUMMARY:Potting Shed University - The Wonderful World of Daffodils
DESCRIPTION:The Master Gardeners of Greene County is proud to announce eight new Potting Shed University classes for 2019. All eight classes will be held on Monday evenings from 6:00pm – 7:00pm at the Botanical Center\, beginning on February 4\, 2019 and running through April 1\, 2019. The fee for all classes is $5 per class; please pay at the door. Registration begins at 5:30pm. For a list of the 2019 classes\, visit our Potting Shed University web page and mark your calendar to invest in gardening skills for life! \nThe April 1 session on Daffodils features Pat Ware\, Master Gardener:  Daffodils are among the first flowers to wake up and brighten our gardens.  They come in sizes from teeny-tiny to huge and come in multiple colors and petals shapes.  Some bloom very early and some bloom very late.  Weather permitting\, see examples of a variety of daffodils and maybe even take some home.

SUMMARY:Cherry Blossom Kite and Pinata Festival
DESCRIPTION:This free event for all ages celebrates Springfield’s sister city relationship with Isesaki\, Japan and Tlaquepaque\, Mexico.  \nBring a kite to fly on the great lawn or build and decorate one for $5. Enjoy Japanese and Mexican performances and activities; little ones can try their hand at breaking piñatas filled with candy. \nTake advantage of free admission to the Mizumoto Japanese Stroll Garden from 10:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. The Stroll Garden is open daily from March 30-October 31; admission is regularly $4.
