SUMMARY:Springfield Community Jazz Ensemble: Gigs in the Garden
DESCRIPTION:Central Bank and Central Trust present Gigs in the Garden\, a free concert series at 2:00 p.m. on Sundays in October 2019 at the Peace through People Pavilion located within the beautiful Kay Cummins Finnie Dogwood Garden in the Springfield Botanical Gardens\, 2400 S. Scenic Ave.\, Springfield\, Mo. \nGigs in the Garden features a variety of international and local performance groups and offers community members an exciting way to enjoy the extraordinary park. Attendees are asked to bring their own lawn chairs and/or blankets for seating. In the case of inclement weather\, the concerts will move inside the Springfield-Greene County Botanical Center. \nSpringfield Community Jazz Ensemble performs on Sunday\, October 13 at 2 p.m. Directed by Bob Holden\, this group has a “big band” sound and is made up of Springfield community members. \n  \n\n  \nConnect with Springfield Community Jazz Ensemble \nFacebook (as Holden’s Herd) \nAbout Gigs in the Garden \nGigs in the Garden is organized by Ric Mayer\, maintainer of the Kickapoo Edge Prairie\, and Linda Chorice\, former Springfield Conservation Nature Center Manager. The series is managed by Friends of the Garden and Springfield Sister Cities Association in cooperation with the Springfield-Greene County Park Board. \nFunding for the concert series is made possible through Central Bank and Central Trust’s sponsorship of the Dogwood Garden.
